RAR Chassis - Mounting Test
This article was published Apr 04, 2018.
After I primed and photographed first test print of lord Ragland and the Woolwich loco, I sent them further to Mark so he could test them on the chassis. They arrived yesterday and here is the report from Mark:
" I would say its a resounding success so far, I had to oval the mounting holes outwards a bit but otherwise the chassis just fell into place. This chassis is 16.5mm gauge and has 12mm wheels, the Woolwich should have 14mm. Plenty of room for the motor and the speed is spot on, I will add some weight to get it running well, then video it. The printed frames on Lord Raglan are 0.8mm too high leaving a step where they join the metal ones but easy to fix, they are spot on for Woolwich, the width is perfect for both! "
I am now awaiting a chassis from Mark so I in turn can test out the cylinders, the only thing which remains now really. Except waiting for the big batch to arrive from the Etch firm of course..
First dozen is already pre-ordered, hurry up if you want one as well !
