LID wagon, second print

This article was published Sep 20, 2018.

The second generation of the LID wagon was done printing this morning! A few clicks and I had another one, but smaller .. Since I started printing during nights my prints now goes very fast .. I blink my eyes and next morning when I wake up the print is done .. This size is much better for an 18in industrial line. It is 75% procent of the previous size.

I tried a new version for the axle boxes. It is like a keyhole, a tiny opening and a generous hole there the axle will spin. Since PLA allows a bit movement I can push the axles through the tiny opening and when done all the way through they reach the big round hole. It took some testing to get the "keyhole" just right, but now it works perfectly. So, no need to glue a piece of styrene on top to keep the wheels in place.
