Uthuset i Kvarnabo - the building

The advantage of modelling something which is somewhat close to your home, is that you can go there to take photos and measures. Yesterday I had a day of from work to visit the storage house (uthus) at Kvarnabo station to do just that. Kvarnabo station is part of the Västergötland Göteborg Järnväg which of only two parts remain today. Kvarnabo station is now part of the AGJ - Anten Gräfsnäs Järnväg, a railway association in Sweden.

Back in 2017 I did make a model of the uthus (storage building) in Anten, go to Koltorp - Antens uthus to see that page. Much has happen since then, now I am back at both O scale and the VGJ line smaller storage buildings.

Since so many pictures, I did divide this into four pages

Uthuset i Kvarnabo

The sole purpose of so many pictures is that I intend to make a model of this building in O scale. I will do the same as last time, model mostly in wood, but one difference is that this time I will make doors and windows in CAD and 3D print them. Last time I did use a styrene cutter, which was nice and got quite good, but this time I will take advantage of 3D printers instead. In theory I could 3D print complete building, but I like working in wood, so only details will be 3D printed.

This building is 11 meters long and 7.5 meters wide, but since in an angle it does not fill all that space.
